Week of September 25th

The temps are much cooler around the lake. Dress accordingly. Today, 09/26 one of our favorite locals from West Covina, Bob Uyeda, caught a 6lb 11ounce rainbow trout off of fisherman's point using blown up crawlers. His fishing battle buddy was using the whistling method and obviously it paid off. We are still going strong with a few more stockings planned before our season ends October. 31st.

Week of September 4th

Thursday August 31st we stocked 1,500lbs of Rainbow Trout from Jess Ranch. We had a lot of action at both points and down by the dam over the weekend. Gary Hertz caught a 5.5lb at Norma's point using crawlers. The Link family limited out using power bait and singing by the dam. Sam Rodriguez caught a 4.8lb at the second bench with power bait. Vince Zamora and Louie Segura brought in a nice stringer of 6.5lb trout from the boats using night crawlers, PowerBait and their wives as good luck charms and navigators.

We are running a special on rowboats for the month of September. $5. per hour or $40 all day. Monday through Friday ONLY with the purchase of your day use fishing pass.

*** For the remainder of the season we are offering a discount on Stand Up Paddle Board lessons with our awesome instructor, Kristen. It is $25 for a 45 minute lesson and 15 minutes of free time. Swing by the boat house to make your reservation or email me at gvlfishing@gmail.com. We will see at the lake.***

Week of August 28th

The trout have moved. We are seeing much more action at fisherman's point. Thomas Burns reeled in a 2.5 pounder on Saturday using chartreuse power bait. Fly fisherman were hitting all day off a boat in same general area close to the aerators. We are expecting good weather over the next week with a chance of rain and thunderstorms from Wednesday to Friday.

See you around the lake.

Week of August 14th

Since the big storm at the beginning of the month the weather has been much cooler lowering the water temperature. We are seeing mid 60's surface temps with outside night time temps in the 40's. The trout are starting to release with activity picking back up down by the dam. Rainbow, peach and corn power baits are working as well as blown up crawlers. It is that time of year to dig out those wind breakers, with strong high winds through out the day. The bait shop is offering great deals for the remainder of the month with the purchase of any baked goods. Drive safe and always keep your areas clean.

Week of July 10th

The fishing is still very active down by the dam. We had a 9lb+ on Friday and multiple 6lb & 7lb trout all caught in the same area. Lures, jigs and flies continue to work great but the larger 5lb plus have been caught on power baits or a combo of power bait and crawlers. The bass are a lot more active along the shoreline. We have seen a few stringers of crappie over the past two weeks and mill worms are the bait of choice.
