Week of June 17th
This week at Green Valley Lake the weather was beautiful, and the fishing was good. The week started with very little pressure and Kevin Whitehead caught a 3.6lb rainbow on Rainbow Gulp Powerbait from the South Shore. Newport Beach had a good showing on Tuesday, the Newport boys had a 3.6lb and a 3.0lb, plus nice stringers as well. Travis Boyer from Glendora caught a 2.15lb from a boat with a yellow and black spoon and Conner Shubin of La Habra brought in a 4.10lb on Glitter Garlic Powerbait from the North Shore. On Sunday, David Fulkerson from Santa Monica caught a nice 3.5lb with a gold jig from a boat by the dam.
We stocked 500 pounds of Jess Ranch rainbows on Friday the 14th and received 300 pounds from DFG on Monday. Fishing was hit and miss over the weekend with some people doing well and others just enjoying the weather. Friday and Saturday we had cooler temperatures at night (under 40) and if it stays that way for a couple of more days the trout fishing should open up! We will be stocking with Jess Ranch later this week. The crappie bite is still wide open. Show us a stringer with at least 15 crappie and get a raffle ticket for a drawing for a $100 Bass pro gift card. We will also be drawing for an assortment of jigs worth over $100 from sniper baits. Drawing to be held on Saturday August 31st. at noon.
